CAS Stencil May 2020 Top Picks

Thank you for all your amazing entries to our May layered stencil challenge. Seeing all the different ways to layer stencils in the gallery was really very inspiring and it just proves how versatile stencils are. It also proved to be very hard to choose the stand out cards as they were all so impressive.

Our Top Pick for May
We all loved Sandie's card, it is a perfect CAS design, demonstrates beautiful blending in wonderful colours, and uses stencils perfectly to echo the sentiment.

Congratulations, Sandie!

Welcome to a new challenge hosted by Hilary!

Message from Hilary
This is my first time hosting a challenge and I have picked something that I haven't (until now) done much of. There are all sorts of ways to layer stencils so I hope you have fun with this challenge and get to use loads of your stencils. This technique has a very mixed media feel to it, so don't forget to keep it CAS.

    CAS Stencil April 2020 Challenge

Welcome to a new challenge hosted by Cathy!

Hi everyone, gilding flakes come in a gorgeous array of colours and can really add shimmer and shine! You can apply them with double sided adhesive tape, tacky when dry gel or embossing powder, or glue that is tacky when dry. Just remember to keep fans off and no heavy breathing!

    Videos Tutorials:
Gilding Flakes with Stencils by Crafting While Caffeinated (11:25) - using tacky when dry gel medium.

How to apply Gilding Flakes with Duo Stencils by Neat & Tangled (10:48) - using flitter glue applied with a brush (great tip) and spreading tiny amounts of flakes with her fingertips.

Gilding the Funky Foliage by Clarity Stamp (18:31) - flakes through a stencil onto double sided sticky sheet, if you have time it's a good laugh too! Think you'd need a fairly robust stencil too, not a delicate one.

    Please follow the challenge rules:
